SUSSEX — Friends of Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge are hosting a talk on the Lenape people on Saturday, April 13, starting at 3 p.m.

Guest speaker, Rob Aptaker will be using artifacts to demonstrate the way the Lenape lived in this area and found the materials they needed for food, clothing, tools, toys, and medicine from nature. The program will be held indoors at 136 Owens Station Road, Sussex, New Jersey. There is a suggested donation of $2 per person or $5 per family for the presentation. Space will be limited.

The Friends Nature Station will be open prior to the program. People are welcome to visit the history display of the refuge including some information about the local Lenape that inhabited the Wallkill River valley. There will be some locally found arrowheads on display. People can play some Lenape games.
