W.W. Newcomb's book: German Artist on the Texas Frontier

Does anyone else here have this book?

German Artist on the Texas Frontier, Friedrich Richard Petri
by William W. Newcomb, Jr.
1978
Texas Memorial Museum

This book is like candy! It's awesome! He drew John Conner, and other Indians in Texas, among other things.

We used Petri's "Plains Indian Warrior in Blue" as the cover illustration for my _The Comanches: A History_ (U Nebraska Press 1999) [paperback version of _Comanche Political History_ (1996)].

For  whatever reason, Newcomb thought that this was  an Apache, but the spear and the bowcase are clearly Comanche. Plus the fact that he is painted blue: returning victorius warriors painted themselve blue.
