Mushroom Rules!

Your best policy is to be able to look at a Mushroom and identify it with absolute certainty and to know its uses or dangers. Many times this is not possible

All mushrooms. Mushroom identification is very difficult and must be precise, even more so than with other plants. Some mushrooms cause death very quickly. Some mushrooms have no known antidote. Two general types of mushroom poisoning are gastrointestinal and central nervous system.

Illegal aliens have always been a problem in the United States. Ask any Native American.

Yup!

Many of the elders here gather mushrooms but my generation doesn't. We weren't interested so the knowledge was never past on. During WWII folks in my tribe went back to foraging in the woods, "eatin weeds and fungus" my Aunt Marion would say.  The southern most Lenape were not farmers. We were foragers. There was a abundance of wild rice, maygrass barley, marsh elder and goosefoot.
People adopted farming because they had to. Not because they wanted to. It was more work.

All my stuff went into the burning can but my survival manual, my M14 manual, my M700 manual and my first aid manual after I caught 2 of the boys planning mayhem with my IM-IW manual. It's in my skull where it belongs.
If you want a good laugh though, if you have a 80's era Ranger's Handbook read the section on "gathering intelligence".  It's a head scratcher. smile
Kinda screwy though that I carried a Sedgley and had a M700 manual though. They're 2 different animals.
