Seeking a Native American shaman or tribal elder in the Poconos

Hello All,

I'm getting it loud and clear from this forum that you don't consider authentic some of the personalities touted in the Poconos as "medicine men."

I mean specifically "Medicine Crow" and "Sun Bear."  I am seeking a true medicine man or tribal elder on behalf of a friend. My friend has built a home in the Poconos and would like to bless and consecrate the ground by making offerings to the land in a traditional ceremony.

We're asking for your help in complete respect and sincerity.  Three people have been seriously injured at her house within a short period of time and my friend has also felt a presence in the house. We feel at the very least that there's a dis-harmony with nature there that must be healed.

Is it possible to have a ceremony of blessing and healing performed and who would be the right person to ask for this?

Thank you so much for any guidance you can provide!

Hello and welcome Dawn Spirit. Looks like I am first to address your post.

Might be a bit hard to speak to Sun Bear(under the circumstances) but I have met Medicine Crow and he gave me some great advice "Give up the smokes or they will kill you."
So if you do find someone and they have a cure for heart disease and emphysema please let me know!!

Perhaps the Lenape of Pennsylvania might know someone, they seem to know more than anyone else on spirituality.Perhaps they have already been there!
Might cost your friend their soul and property though.

Would be good for others to know what injuries were sustained and how!Bad building practises and design can be dangerous. Might need a specialist!! smile

Thank you for your response and questions.

The house itself is very respectful to the earth - it's made out of all sustainable materials and is completely run by solar power.

But perhaps the land is reacting to someone having built upon it?  The family's son accidentally shot himself with a nailgun during the construction but survived. Then a visitor broke her ankle so badly that her foot was practically facing the wrong way. A few weeks later, the owner of the house fell onto a boulder and broke ribs that then pierced his lung - all long, painful ordeals.

My 2 cents is no one person is "spiritually superior" to any other, and your friend could seek their own spirituallity in their own way, without seeking "a true medicine man or elder". To find someone who you think has a gift from their Creator, a person has be around persons who are living their lives in the spirituality they're seeking.

1. a person can get hooked up with a bad person, and it might take 15 years before the light bulb comes on; and  it's dangerous.

2,. You're around a lot of persons over the years, and you might go through a lot of persons, before the Creator sends the one for you at the right time. & even then a person should be seeking the one who Created them, not some person in the Creator's place. Someone can come into your life for a time, but that doesn't mean a person should rely on them, instead of the one who Created them.

3.& the 3'rd thing I'd say to anyone who is seeking "spirituality", for lack of any better word, a person has to be willing to pay the cost, and what the person seeking can give freely to others, not just because there are "things" a person wants.

I wonder if you belong to any tribe/band/Nation (Indigenous), if not, if you "practice" a particuliar tribe/band/Nation's spirituality, and how do you do that if you don't belong?
