Mission Delaware words for "deer"

(Note:  In the word, Chotajapeu, "ch" = German "ch" in 'Bach' or Scottish "ch" in 'loch.'  In the other words "ch" = "h".)

Achtuch - "a deer"

Palipawe - "a buck"

Ajapeu - "a buck"

Chotajapeu - "a big buck"

Achgendhockus - "a young buck"

Awelamuckunes - "a young buck"

Nonschetto - "a doe"

Amoschimoe - "a yearling"

Ahtschuhuwunsch - "a little deer"

Mamalis - "a fawn"

Mos - "a deer" (usually signifies "an elk," but sometimes "a deer," too; and "a moose," as well)
