Have you sent this link to Barb? She likely knows the guy (John Choate). There are loads of pics at her site as well!

No I haven't sent this to Barb. I've seen her site many times, I don't recall seeing some of these there. I could be mistaken. To quote the archive "John N. Choate Negatives ca. 1879-1902".  You're welcome to send it along but you'll have to copy the url on the SIRIS site, it cuts off in here.

Re: Carlisle Photos

For those wishing to pay their respects at the cemetary I will forwarn you that the tombstones were removed from the graves to make room for a soccer field where the graves still remain but the tombstones are now along the road near the back entrance. The Carlisle historical society also has artifacts and pictures from the Indian school and  you used to be able to take a short tour at the now war college formerly Indian school which included the " dungeon " where the bad kids went ( an underground room for solitary confinement ). I remember the story of Lucy Pretty Eagle I believe her name was, anyway she chose to throw herself from a window to her death...............I hate looking at the pictures of the kids in their suits and cut hair and that blank stare, it weighs heavy on my soul!!

People have tried and tried but sex is not better than sweetcorn
