They're Indians.  There shouldn't be any other criteria for acknowledgment.  Recognize them, already!  Geez!

My thoughts exactly. It was about Plecker and nothing else. Other Southeastern tribes practiced similar policies such as running out people who looked too black to protect their status as Indians. That's how the mixed "High Yellow" communities grew in urban areas. My grandmother's neighborhood in Camden (Centerville) and Morrisville (East Delair) came about in part because of these practices. (Looking for work was one of the other reasons)
